The "charcoal" series is a burnt finish that gives the entire piece a charcoal-like appearance. A special protective agent is applied on top to make the finish less likely to come off.
The shape was created by crushing it into a top hat mold, and the brim was shaped by hand.
Decorative stitching has been added in several places with waxed thread.
Leather feathers are used for decoration.
